A Prayer For Luna
My dearest Luna,
We thank you for
The Moon you raise,
And the stars
Shining beautifully
In the evening sky
As the jewels in
Your flowing mane.
Remember,
My noble princess,
You are not shunned,
We hide not from
The night you bring;
You are the peace
In the enveloping darkness,
Protecting us from harm.
Luna,
We beseech you:
Raise the Moon
And bathe your kingdom
In it's fair light.
Keep your people safe
In your humbling night.
And only rest your weary head
When your sister
Brings forth her light
And reclaims her righteous day.

I really like Princess Luna and I wanted to show my respect for the character. I wanted it to be like a pony reassuring her that she is loved and respected (This poem takes place post Nightmare Night).
This is the product of about 40 minutes of writing and constant editing. It seems like everytime I read through it I find something that I want to change, so there's a possibility that I will edit this sometime in the future (unless most of you like it as is, Then I might leave it alone
